Surface Water Treatment Systems
Surface water treatment systems turn water from lakes, dams, ponds and canals into safe drinking or process water.
Surface water from lakes, dam reservoirs, ponds and canals is exposed to the environment and typically contains suspended solids, organic matter, algae, colour and microorganisms. Its quality also changes with the seasons, so treatment must be robust and well controlled.
Treatment Process
- Intake screening and pre-sedimentation
- Coagulation, flocculation and clarification
- Rapid sand / multimedia filtration or ultrafiltration
- Activated carbon for colour, odour, taste and organics
- Reverse osmosis where dissolved salts must be reduced
- Disinfection with UV and/or chlorine
Applications
Drinking water for settlements and facilities, process water for industry, hotels and tourism facilities, agricultural and livestock operations.
Automation
Online turbidity, pH and residual chlorine measurement with automatic chemical dosing keep the plant stable and reduce operator workload.
